What this covers

Suilynex is a membership society that meets in a private Discord. Running it requires knowing very little about you. This page says what that is, why we hold it, who processes it, how long we keep it, and how to have it removed. It applies to this website and to your membership; what happens inside Discord is also governed by Discord's own policies.

What we collect

When you join, you sign in with Discord. Discord tells us your Discord username and your Discord user ID; that is all we keep, and it is how we know which seat is yours.

Payment is handled entirely by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never pass through us; we do not see or store card numbers. Stripe tells us only whether your subscription is active.

Like almost every website, ours keeps standard server logs: the address a request came from, the page requested, the time, and the kind of browser used. They exist to keep the site working and to notice when something has gone wrong.

Altogether, this is what we hold:

• Your Discord username and user ID
• Whether your subscription is active, as reported by Stripe
• Standard server logs

Inside Discord

The answers you give to onboarding questions inside the Discord — your field, your interests, what you know well and what you want to learn — are stored by Discord, not by this site. They are visible to other members in the way the community is set up to show them, and they are governed by Discord's privacy policy. You can change or remove them inside Discord at any time.

Why we hold it

We hold each piece for one reason and use it for nothing else.

• To seat you: to connect the person who paid with the account that enters the Discord.
• To keep membership current: to open the door when a subscription begins and to close it when one ends.
• To keep the site working: to find faults and to notice misuse.

Who processes it

Three companies handle data on our behalf, each for a single purpose. Each sees only what its purpose requires, and each has its own privacy policy: Stripe's and Discord's are public. Nobody else receives your data unless the law requires us to hand it over.

• Stripe — takes payment and runs the subscription.
• Discord — signs you in and hosts the community.
• Our hosting provider — serves this site and keeps its logs.

How long we keep it

We keep your Discord username and ID, and the state of your subscription, for as long as you are a member. When your membership ends we keep them for a short while — long enough to settle any question about a charge, or to welcome you back without starting over — and then delete them as a matter of routine.

If you would rather not wait, write to us and we will delete them on request.

Server logs are kept briefly and then discarded. Stripe keeps payment records for as long as financial rules require; that is governed by Stripe's policy rather than ours.

What we do not do

It is easier to say what we do not do.

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not advertise, and we share nothing with advertisers.
• We do not run analytics or tracking cookies, and we do not follow you to other sites.
• The only cookies this site may set are those strictly necessary to sign you in and to complete payment.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Write to hello@suilynex.com and tell us your Discord username so that we can find you. We will reply within a few days, and you do not need to give a reason.

Canceling your membership does not delete your data by itself; ask, and we will. Anything held by Discord or Stripe you can also manage with them directly.

Depending on where you live, the law may give you further rights. Write to us and we will honor them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here and the date at the top will be updated. If a change matters to members, we will say so inside the community before it takes effect.
